ETS2 Switzerland Rework: Furka Pass and the New A9 Route

SCS Software’s January 2024 preview traced the new Swiss route from the A9 motorway into the Alps. The article documented an unfinished map rework. Euro Truck Simulator 2 update 1.50 delivered the completed Switzerland rebuild on May 14, 2024, free for owners of the base game.

From Bern toward the Rhône valley

The rebuilt route starts from the Bern direction and follows the A9 through the Rhône valley in Valais. SCS used the corridor to add vineyards, mountain views and a longer connection across western Switzerland. The final map also revised the regional economy.

A detour across Furka Pass

Near the end of the route, drivers can leave the motorway for Furka Pass. SCS called the road Route 19 in the first preview and listed it as the N19 when update 1.50 shipped. The pass has steep inclines and tight turns, conditions that make the road a demanding choice for a truck and trailer.

Stops and cargo work

Susten, Obergoms and Realp appear along the rebuilt section as new or revised settlements. A farm and a sawmill provide additional delivery locations. These stops connect the road project to the freight economy and give players reasons to use the route during regular jobs.

The released 1.50 map extends beyond the A9 preview. Geneva, Bern and Zurich were redesigned, new A9 and N19 sections were added, and the A40/E25 route linked Geneva with the road toward Aosta through the Mont Blanc corridor.
