Euro Truck Simulator 2: 1.62 Update Open Beta

The 1.62 Open Beta for Euro Truck Simulator 2 is now live, and we’d love for you to try it. If you join, please post any bugs or problems you find in the relevant section of our official forums.

New Garages

Update 1.62 brings redesigned truck garage models to the whole base map and every map DLC, so you’ll see the refreshed buildings wherever you drive. Both the interiors and exteriors have new visuals. They have finer detail and a more modern, immersive look. We hope this makes upgrading your garage even more satisfying.

Performance mattered here too. Adding these garages without driving up their cost compared with the old models was a real challenge. We hope we’ve struck the right balance between better visuals and smooth performance.

Improved Material System

This update extends the Improved Material System to more truck interiors. The Iveco S-Way is the newest addition. It gets better lighting and higher visual quality, especially in how its interior materials respond to light.

DAF XG+ Emerald, Sapphire & 30 Years in Czechia Editions

Update 1.62 also adds three new editions of the DAF XG+. The Emerald and Sapphire Editions come in distinctive green and blue paint schemes. They also have exclusive exterior accessories and specially designed interiors, giving drivers a stylish new way to personalise their trucks.

The third edition is the DAF XG+ 30 Years in Czechia Edition. It marks three decades of DAF in the Czech Republic with a special anniversary design and unique exterior details. Its exclusive interior has dedicated upholstery and stitching. Our blog post has more details here.

Goodyear Tyres Pack Update

We’re refreshing the paint jobs in the Goodyear Tyres Pack to match the company’s new branding.

The paint jobs now carry the latest Goodyear logo and slightly adjusted colours, so they match the brand’s current look.

Game Radio Update

The 1.62 Open Beta also updates the Escape station in our Game Radio feature. Escape is the only stream-safe station in the in-game lineup, which makes it a good fit for content creators sharing their journeys with their communities. We’ve removed the tracks that caused copyright issues and added 11 new songs. That gives Escape a longer runtime, closer to that of our other stations.

Enjoy the new additions, but please keep in mind that this is an open beta and not a stable public release. You may run into bugs, instability or crashes. If you’d rather wait for the final version, that’s perfectly fine. If you’d like to help us get there sooner, we’d welcome your feedback on our forum and your bug reports in the dedicated section.

To join this Open Beta, opt in to the Experimental Beta branch on Steam. Go to your Steam client → LIBRARY → right-click Euro Truck Simulator 2 → Properties → Game Versions & Betas tab → Beta Participation list → public_beta. You may need to restart Steam before the correct branch name appears.
