American Truck Simulator: 1.62 Update Open Beta

The Open Beta for American Truck Simulator update 1.62 is now live, and we’d love for you to try it. If you decide to join, please report any bugs you run into in the relevant sections of our official forums.

Each report and comment helps us refine the update before its final release. We’re grateful to everyone who takes the time to test it, and thank you in advance!

Road Trip Tourist Boards Update

Have you been enjoying the new Atlas feature that arrived with the recent Road Trip: Ford DLC? Update 1.62 brings you even more to explore.

New Tourist Boards are waiting to be discovered in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Washington and Louisiana. Each of these states gains one Tourist Board, while Nebraska receives two. Every board you complete earns you a new postcard.

There’s more. To mark the 100th anniversary of Route 66, we’re introducing the Route 66 Cross-Border Tourist Board. Its points of interest stretch across Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.

You don’t need every map expansion to enjoy this board, because you can still visit the locations in any state you own. However, the special postcard is only unlocked if you own every map expansion the Route 66 Cross-Border Tourist Board covers and visit all of its exploration locations. There’s a bonus as well: finishing this board also grants you a Route 66 Air Freshener accessory for your truck.

Improved Material System

This update extends the Improved Material System to more truck interiors. The All-New Volvo VNL is the newest vehicle to receive it. It now has better lighting and higher visual quality, with special attention to how the various interior materials respond to light. We hope you enjoy the stunning new look! You can find out more about this topic here.

Goodyear Tires Pack Update

The paint jobs in the Goodyear Tires Pack have been refreshed to match the company’s new branding. They now carry the latest Goodyear logo and slightly revised colours, so they match the brand’s current look.

Game Radio Update

The Escape station in our Game Radio feature is also getting an update. It is the only stream-safe station in our in-game radio lineup, which makes it a great fit for content creators sharing their journeys with their communities. We’ve removed the tracks that caused copyright issues and added 11 new songs. The playlist is now longer and closer in runtime to our other stations.
