Reacher Spinoff Neagley Premieres on Prime Video in Three Weeks

Prime Video is releasing an eight-episode spin-off series set in Lee Child’s universe on September 16, 2026, arriving the same day as the Reacher Season 4 finale.

While Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) battles a high-stakes conspiracy across Philadelphia in season 4, Frances Neagley (Maria Sten) steps into her own solo operation. Neagley, a former Master Sergeant from the Army’s 110th MP Special Investigations Unit turned corporate private investigator, launches an inquiry of her own when a suspicious death emerges from her past. The spin-off functions as a standalone thriller, allowing viewers to jump in without needing extensive knowledge of the broader franchise.

What is Neagley about?

The series follows Frances Neagley as she works cases as a private investigator in Chicago. The story begins when Neagley receives word that a close friend died on local train tracks in an apparent drug-related suicide. Refusing to accept the official ruling, Neagley launches an independent inquiry at the scene and uncovers a lethal conspiracy.

Unlike Reacher, who wanders from town to town, Neagley remains rooted in Chicago. Her established career, relationships, and routines provide a stable backdrop for the mystery while retaining the franchise focus on an investigator willing to work around standard legal systems.

Maria Sten returns to the role she first played in the fifth episode of Reacher. Alan Ritchson will also appear as Reacher during the season. The eight-episode arc tells an original story rather than adapting an existing book, though Lee Child is co-authoring a standalone Neagley novel titled Zero Margin with Yasmin Angoe for release in 2027.

The creative team behind Reacher remains involved with the production. Nick Santora co-created the spin-off alongside Nicholas Wootton, veteran director Sam Hill directed the first two episodes, and Child serves as an executive producer.

When is the Neagley release date?

All eight episodes of Neagley premiere Wednesday, September 16, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video. The release coincides with the arrival of the eighth and final episode of Reacher Season 4 on the streaming service.
