Aniimo open-world creature collector release date announcement

Aniimo, the anticipated free-to-play creature-taming adventure, is arriving much sooner than expected. Revealed during the Gamescom Opening Night Live pre-show, the vibrant open-world title will officially arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on September 16, followed by an iOS and Android debut just a week later on September 23.

Drawing clear inspiration from the monster-taming lineage established by Pokémon, Aniimo tasks players with befriending a diverse roster of charming, formidable companions to tackle rival trainers and traverse expansive landscapes. However, the game differentiates itself through its innovative “Twine” system. Rather than issuing passive turn-based commands, players assume direct real-time control of their companions, soaring across skies, burrowing through terrain, overcoming environmental puzzles, and executing dynamic combat maneuvers firsthand.

While hands-on previews demonstrate strong mechanical promise, questions linger regarding how its free-to-play monetization framework will integrate into the broader progression loop.

Adventurers won’t have to wait long to discover the full scope of the journey when Aniimo debuts on console and PC on September 16, followed by mobile devices on September 23.
