PlayStation Patents AI Account to Detect Dangerous Users
PlayStation has patented an artificial intelligence system designed to deploy virtual decoy accounts that mimic underage users to detect individuals attempting to make harmful contact.
Under patent application 18/314775, titled "Large Language Model Powered Social Integrity System," the platform uses AI-generated accounts to identify potentially dangerous users across online networks.
The system is built to act like a potential victim while appearing to be an authentic profile. Specifically, the AI can replicate the communication style of minors. When a suspicious user initiates contact, the technology records their actions before any unwanted interactions can occur with a real person.

The AI is designed to monitor for spam, phishing attempts for personal data, inappropriate messages, cheating, fraud, and attempts to solicit minors. Violators would not be banned automatically. Instead, their accounts would receive flags, and other players would see warning indicators when interacting with them.
It remains unconfirmed whether PlayStation will implement this technology in a live environment, as many patented concepts never reach commercial release.
