Palworld Developers Do Not Want to Spend a Year on First Major Update
Pocketpair has started planning Palworld’s first major post-1.0 update, aiming to deliver new content without getting bogged down in an overly long development cycle. John Buckley, Head of Publishing and Communications at Pocketpair, asked players to submit ideas, and the post quickly gathered more than 2,000 replies.
The studio does not intend to turn version 1.1 into an oversized undertaking. Buckley clarified the team’s scope while reviewing community feedback.
“Things like ‘add a new continent,’ ‘add 20 more levels,’ and similar massive tasks aren’t really what we want to do for 1.1,” Buckley said.
Buckley noted that while the team remains “open to ideas,” they “don’t plan on spending a year making a massive update for 1.1.” He added that continually increasing the level cap ultimately creates “massive bloat” in the game.

Support for Palworld will eventually conclude, after which Pocketpair will shift focus to its next project. Version 1.0 already introduced new Pals, a new region, endgame weapons and armor, additional structures, and extra points of interest across the map.
