Players Review Bomb EA Sports FC 27 on Steam Days After Release

Just a few days after its release, EA Sports FC 27 has faced a wave of negative reviews on Steam, with players criticizing the lack of major changes, gameplay mechanics, technical bugs, and monetization.

Even though the new installment in Electronic Arts’ football series quickly topped the Steam bestseller list, its PC user review rating has dropped to “Mixed.” The primary complaint from players is that EA Sports FC 27 feels more like an expensive roster update than a new game.

Passing, manual defending, and numerous technical bugs came under fire. The new online hub, The Grounds, which was inspired by NBA 2K, also failed to meet expectations. Players consider the location too limited and tie it primarily to aggressive monetization.

Obtaining cosmetic items is causing particular discontent, with users arguing that earning them in the game is significantly harder than buying points with real money.

Against this backdrop, EA’s annual sports game cycle is once again a topic of discussion. Players believe that 12 months is not enough time for serious changes, and the absence of a new F1 release this year has only amplified conversations about the need for change in EA Sports FC as well.
