Six Resident Evil Games Sell Million Copies Each

Resident Evil has posted impressive sales figures, with six games in the series each selling over 3 million copies between mid-2025 and mid-2026, including Resident Evil Requiem at 8.5 million sold copies.

According to a report by Game File, no single franchise has achieved this specific result before. The main driver of these sales was Resident Evil Requiem, the fastest-selling installment in the history of the series, which surpassed 8.5 million sold copies.

The list of million-selling bestsellers also includes the remakes of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4, alongside Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil Village. The performance of the seventh installment is particularly notable, as it continues to attract millions of new players nearly 10 years after its release.

Resident Evil 7 served as a turning point for the series following the lukewarm reception of Resident Evil 6. Meanwhile, the remakes of the classic installments have shown that Capcom is able to combine elements familiar to fans with modern mechanics.

In 2027, the series will continue with Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake.
