Players Call Out Hypocrisy Over Claims Rockstar Wanted to Mock The Last of Us in GTA 6
Leaked materials from Grand Theft Auto VI have revealed an in-game joke aimed at The Last of Us, though players quickly turned the criticism back on Rockstar Games for its own history of re-releases.
Assets found in a recent major GTA 6 leak include a game case for a fictional title called We Came Together. The cover design and typography closely mimic The Last of Us, while text on the spine reads “remaster of a remake,” poking fun at Naughty Dog’s repeated re-releases.

This style of parody is standard for Rockstar. Previous Grand Theft Auto entries featured iFruit as an Apple satire, while the Righteous Slaughter franchise mocked Call of Duty.
Players were quick to call out the studio for hypocrisy. Grand Theft Auto V originally launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 before arriving on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and eventually PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S with iterative enhancements.
