Paul Walter Hauser, the star of Black Bird, has been tapped for a role in Zack Cragger’s forthcoming adaptation of Resident Evil. Austin Abrams, known for Euphoria, is also reported to be part of the cast.
Hauser’s specific character has not been disclosed, and the project’s plot is being kept under wraps. According to the director, the film will not be a faithful recreation of the game — it will feature its own storyline and original characters. The setting for the new horror borrows elements from the third Resident Evil game, while its tone takes inspiration from the fourth.
