Path of Exile Creator Doubts Diablo V Will Release in 2029
Path of Exile creator Chris Wilson believes that Diablo V will not be ready for its planned spring 2029 release due to Blizzard’s packed schedule and a record number of classes.
Path of Exile creator Chris Wilson thinks Diablo V is unlikely to be ready for its scheduled spring 2029 release and considers a delay possible.
According to Wilson of Grinding Gear Games, Blizzard has an overly packed schedule, especially given that the new installment will feature more classes than any other game in the series.
In my view, the game will not be ready for the spring of 2029. But there is nothing wrong with that; delays happen and are normal in this industry. I cannot even count how many times I have had to delay the releases of successive leagues in Path of Exile, and the players did not mind.
Wilson also offered a theory on why Blizzard announced Diablo V so early. In his opinion, the presentation was designed not so much for players, but for Microsoft’s leadership.
Remember that BlizzCon is held not only for fans of Blizzard games, but also for Microsoft, whose representatives have recently stated that they want to see more major releases from this company.
