Paradox Interactive appears to have leaked its own upcoming project ahead of its planned reveal.

The Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase is scheduled for August 25, where publisher Paradox Interactive was expected to unveil a new title. Fans discovered information about the unannounced game shortly before the presentation.

A section for an unannounced project titled Afterworld briefly appeared on the official Paradox Interactive forums under the Unreleased Games category, listed alongside the upcoming Prison Architect 2. Additional gameplay details also surfaced online.

According to the leaked description, Afterworld tasks players with leading a tribe of survivors, researching technologies left behind by vanished civilizations, engaging in political struggles and warfare, and developing wasteland settlements. Some community members noted that the concept resembles a post-apocalyptic Fallout-style setting combined with Paradox grand strategy mechanics.

There is currently no official release date or launch window for Afterworld, and no gameplay footage or screenshots have been shared.

Paradox Interactive previously published the turn-based 4X strategy game Millennia from developer C Prompt Games, which allowed players to guide a nation across ten thousand years from the dawn of humanity into the far reaches of space.
