NVIDIA has released the GeForce Game Ready 591.44 driver, restoring PhysX support on RTX 50 GPUs for several titles and addressing bugs in other games.
With the new GeForce Game Ready 591.44 driver, NVIDIA reinstated PhysX support on RTX 50-series graphics cards for a number of popular games. Physics calculations now run on the GPU again, boosting performance in some older projects.
PhysX support has been restored in the following games:
- Alice: Madness Returns
- Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
- Batman: Arkham City
- Batman: Arkham Origins
- Borderlands 2
- Mafia II
- Metro 2033
- Metro: Last Light
- Mirror’s Edge
PhysX previously stopped functioning on RTX 50 cards after NVIDIA discontinued 32-bit CUDA support. Consequently, physics effects in legacy titles were processed only by the CPU, which reduced performance.
The update also fixes stability, performance, and visual artifact issues in Battlefield 6, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Black Myth: Wukong, and Monster Hunter: World.
The GeForce Game Ready 591.44 driver is now available for download on NVIDIA’s official website.
