Street Fighter Weekend Box Office Falls Nearly 90% From Opening by Third Weekend
Street Fighter earned about $3.2 million in the US and Canada during its third weekend, down 62.7% from the previous weekend. The film fell to fifth place as the number of theaters showing it dropped by 750 to 2,825.
The adaptation has grossed $53 million domestically and $91.9 million worldwide, a disastrous result against its $82 million production budget, which does not include marketing costs.

Despite those results, Capcom issued a press release on November 2 highlighting the film’s success. The company noted that Street Fighter topped the US box office during its debut week, from October 16 to 22, and said the adaptation was helping raise awareness and increase the value of the franchise.
Given the current box office totals, the filmmakers, who appear to have been counting on a full trilogy, may now have to hope the film attracts new buyers of the games and related merchandise and performs well on streaming services.
