NVIDIA Releases DLSS 4.5 with Improved In-Game Image Quality

NVIDIA has rolled out a new DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction model designed to enhance ray tracing visual quality without impacting performance.

DLSS 4.5 has delivered improved visual fidelity since early this year, even in Ultra Performance mode when upscaling from 720p to 4K. A key limitation was its lack of compatibility with Ray Reconstruction, which this update resolves.

RTX graphics card owners can access the new model through the NVIDIA App beta. To activate it, go to Settings → About, enable beta features, then navigate to Graphics → DLSS Overrides → Model Presets and choose Preset F for Ray Reconstruction.

Testing from Hardware Unboxed and TechPowerUp indicates that the visual upgrade is clear while frame rates hold steady. DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction helps minimize blur, ghosting, reflection artifacts, and pixel boiling during ray-traced workloads.

The updated model is compatible with all RTX GPUs and is set to exit beta in early September.
