New Worms Game Leaks Online, May Be a Strategy Game

An unannounced entry in the Worms franchise has surfaced online through a leak detailing its title and key art. According to insider Intercelluar, the project is titled Worms Galactic Tactics and is in development at Absolutely Games.

This is not the first time details about the project have emerged. Screenshots and gameplay footage previously leaked under the working title Project Arrakis, pointing to a major departure from traditional franchise mechanics.

Earlier materials indicate that Worms Galactic Tactics will adopt a strategy format similar to XCOM or Mario + Rabbids. Rather than relying on the familiar artillery battles and quirky weapon arsenals, the game will focus on squad management and turn-based tactical combat.

Intercelluar has shared accurate industry leaks in the past, including early details on Rayman Legends: Retold before its official unveiling.
