Following the successful March 5 debut of Pokémon Pokopia on the Nintendo Switch 2, we finally have a roadmap for the game’s highly anticipated Expansion Pass. During the latest Nintendo Direct, developers confirmed that the aquatic Bubbly Basin region is slated for an August release. This launch will be accompanied by a complimentary software update granting all players access to the new “Dive” mechanic.
Bubbly Basin serves as the inaugural chapter of the Expansion Pass, which is set to grow throughout late 2026 before introducing an entirely new town in 2027. True to its name, this submerged biome requires players to master the Dive ability to traverse its depths and interact with a variety of unique underwater Pokémon. To unlock this ability, players must first bolster the environmental standing of Bleak Beach.
