Netflix Considers Screen Adaptations of Geiger, Radio Spaceman, and Other Comics

Netflix is looking for new comic books that could serve as the basis for hit series.

Following the success of The Umbrella Academy and Sweet Tooth, Netflix continues to eye independent comic books. The company has acquired options for several titles at once, including Geiger by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank.

Geiger takes place in 2050 following a nuclear war. An irradiated family man turns into a glowing protector and fights mutants and warlords. Paramount previously developed a television adaptation, but the project never reached production.

The list also includes In the Pines by Patrick Horvath, Radio Spaceman by Mike Mignola, and Infinite Horizon by Gerry Duggan and Phil Noto. The latter moves the motifs of the Odyssey to the near future and tells the story of an American soldier trying to return home from the Middle East.

For now, these are only options, which allow Netflix to start developing adaptations but do not guarantee they will reach production. The rights can sit on a shelf for many years before even one of the projects is greenlit.
