Neagley Confirmed for Reacher Season 2 Spinoff

Prime Video is expanding the Reacher universe. Just days after Amazon MGM Studios confirmed a sixth season of Reacher is coming, the company announced that viewers will get more of its first spinoff, Neagley. That development is expected because Neagley currently holds the No. 1 spot on TV shows on Prime Video, two weeks after the eight-episode crime drama premiered.

Neagley debuted on Prime Video on Sept. 16. The Reacher spinoff has been a hit since day one, likely because Neagley gave fans of the Alan Ritchson-led series new content on the same day that Reacher season 4 ended.

Amazon MGM stated in a news release that Neagley reached 40 million viewers in its first 13 days on Prime Video, becoming its fourth most-watched series debut. That viewership approaches Reacher numbers. Reacher season 4 reached 66 million viewers globally in its first 28 days on Prime Video, according to Amazon. The show also benefited from Ritchson reprising his role as Jack Reacher as a guest star.

What is Neagley about?

Neagley stars Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, a private investigator in Chicago and former military protege of Jack Reacher in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit. Sten co-starred in the first three seasons of Reacher. In her stand-alone show, Neagley learns that a friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident. She seeks justice, putting herself on a dangerous path to uncover a menacing evil. Neagley is based on the character created by Lee Child, but unlike Reacher, the series is not a direct adaptation of the author novels.

Audiences around the world have embraced Frances Neagley as a force all her own. Maria Sten delivers a commanding, layered performance that drives every episode, and Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton have built a world that is both thrilling and compelling. We are excited to continue this story and explore what’s next for Neagley with our partners at Paramount Television Studios.

Amazon MGM did not announce a release window for Neagley season 2. Based on the first season production schedule, fans likely will not see it until 2028. With Reacher season 5 expected in 2027, the action franchise will keep viewers occupied until season 6 arrives.
