Greetings, Creators.
As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing animation performance—particularly for users on lower-spec hardware—we are rolling out a Character Optimization update. Please be advised that the bone data utilized for Character LOD3 is scheduled for an update on Thursday, June 18th.
Due to these technical adjustments, character skinning may appear distorted or fragmented when transitioning to LOD3 for outfit mods developed or published with previous versions of the ModKit.
Required Actions for Mod Creators
The good news is that you do not need to manually adjust rigging or rework your skin weights. Simply follow these steps to ensure your creations remain compatible:
- Update your tools: Download the latest version of the ModKit, which will be available on June 18th.
- Refresh your project: Open your existing outfit mod project within the updated ModKit.
- Process the update: If you are prompted with a Save or Update notification, please proceed to confirm.
- Re-upload: Publish your project to CurseForge once more.
- Automatic optimization: Once uploaded, the CurseForge Cloud Cooking system will trigger automatically, seamlessly integrating the new LOD3 compatibility data into your mod.
Important Considerations
- This update affects all outfit mods created or uploaded using legacy versions of the ModKit.
- The issue manifests specifically when a character switches to the LOD3 distance state.
- Please note that this is purely a visual compatibility concern; it does not affect game stability or cause crashes. Your outfit meshes may simply display incorrectly if not updated.
- No manual re-rigging, weight painting, or LOD editing is required on your part.
We appreciate your continued support in making inZOI a smoother experience for everyone.
Best regards,
The inZOI Team
