Mike Flanagan’s Carrie series to premiere this fall

The latest television adaptation of Stephen King’s seminal novel “Carrie” is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video in October 2026.

This update was shared by series regular Katee Sackhoff during a panel at Fan Expo Vancouver.

“You guys are in for a real treat. It has turned out exceptionally well,” Sackhoff teased, while strictly declining to offer specific plot details.

Horror maestro Mike Flanagan, known for “The Haunting of Hill House” and “Doctor Sleep,” serves as the writer, director, and showrunner. The titular role of Carrie White will be portrayed by Summer H. Howell.

The narrative follows a high school outcast who suffers relentless bullying from her peers and endures the oppressive fanatical devotion of her mother. The story takes a dark turn when the protagonist discovers she possesses lethal telekinetic abilities, leading to a visceral quest for vengeance against those who wronged her.

The inaugural season is confirmed to consist of eight episodes. The ensemble cast also features Samantha Sloyan, Amber Midthunder, Matthew Lillard, Siena Agudong, and Alison Thornton.

“Carrie” has been adapted for the screen several times, most notably in Brian De Palma’s 1976 cinematic masterpiece starring Sissy Spacek.
