Microsoft Readies Next-Generation Xbox with Full PC Integration

Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft Gaming, has for the first time revealed details about the next-generation console. In an interview with the Japanese outlet Famitsu he said the upcoming Xbox “will consolidate all devices into one,” ushering in a new paradigm for how games are experienced.

Spencer framed the platform as a move toward complete integration, offering a single point of access to every game regardless of which device you’re using. In essence, the console could function as a hybrid of PC and Xbox within a unified ecosystem.

The concept was inspired by the ROG Xbox Ally — a portable device that looks like a console but functions more like a mini‑PC. Spencer called it the “first step” toward a new Xbox model that aims to make gaming as versatile as possible.

The platform will extend the Play Anywhere idea, allowing players to purchase a title once and play it on both PC and console. Microsoft is placing its bet on flexibility.

Xbox President Sarah Bond confirmed the system will be a premium product, carefully engineered down to the smallest detail. Players should expect strong performance — and, according to numerous rumors, a price likely higher than the PS6.
