Atlus marked the first anniversary of Metaphor: ReFantazio, but instead of bold announcements fans were shown only a promotion for a new digital edition. Players had hoped for something substantial — DLC, an expanded re-release, or a Switch 2 port — yet the reveal was more modest: the company unveiled a Guidebook Edition.
The edition is slated for early 2026 and will include a digital artbook, the soundtrack, and an official walkthrough. The guide is not complete — it’s an abbreviated version of the physical book.
Players who already purchased the Atlus 35th Anniversary Digital Deluxe Edition will receive the guide at no additional cost. A small but pleasant perk.
In the announcement video, the developers and the English voice cast thanked players for their support. Although no new updates were announced, the team emphasized their appreciation for the attention and the game’s success.
Fans were left disappointed: they had expected more from an anniversary event than a simple digital bundle.
