Men Harass Rockstar Employees Over GTA VI Presentation Following Criticism of Jason’s Character

Some players are now attempting to find individuals to blame for how Jason’s character is portrayed.

A presentation titled “Grand Theft Auto VI: Extended Look” recently took place, allowing players to view the PlayStation 5 version. While some gamers were thrilled, others actively complained.

GTA VI will feature two protagonists, Lucia and Jason. Certain users, such as RetroNationX, are deeply dissatisfied with the depiction of the male character, considering him poorly written and blaming female writers for the issue:

What is wrong with this Jason? Was he written by people who are out of touch with reality? Throughout the trailer, he doesn’t show a single ounce of individuality. He looks like a secondary character, just Lucia’s sidekick. His voice is annoying. He doesn’t have an ounce of masculine aura. What were they thinking?

Angered players started searching for the root of the problem with Jason and began targeting female Rockstar employees on social media. For instance, Sara Lazzeroni came under fire, even though no one seemed to care that she is a 3D artist and does not work on scripts or dialogue. As a result, she had to restrict access to her profile:

Okay, unfortunately, I had to lock the comments under my posts. Thank you all for the incredible support and the huge number of positive reviews about “Grand Theft Auto VI: Extended Look.” Unfortunately, a few nasty comments can ruin all the joy, and I am not going to tolerate insults directed at female game developers.

The release of GTA VI is scheduled for November 19 of this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Rockstar Games and Take-Two have not yet announced a release window for the PC version.
