The story unfolds 40,000 years in the future. Humanity, having fled a dying Earth, has established a precarious foothold on a world called Lidon. However, their survival is threatened by “The Rot”—a malevolent force dismantling life-support and terraforming infrastructure. Players step into the boots of Jun, a customizable protagonist and salvager possessing a rare genetic link to the legendary Traveler dynasty. This lineage tasks Jun with traversing the stars to retrieve Celestial Remnants—remnants of ancient alien technology that represent humanity’s last hope. Guiding Jun through this odyssey is C.C. Orlev, a grizzled, enigmatic mentor brought to life by McConaughey in his first-ever video game performance.
Gameplay blends tactical third-person cover shooting with an array of superhuman powers. Players will assemble a diverse crew—comprising both humans and exotic alien species—with whom they can build deep bonds or even pursue romances. The primary tool of destruction is the Recycler, a versatile, shapeshifting firearm.
