New PS4 jailbreak enables online cheating in GTA Online
Cheaters are no longer safe from detection even on consoles.
A jailbreak was recently introduced for PlayStation 4 firmware version 14.00, giving players the ability to use cheats in Grand Theft Auto Online and other multiplayer games on the console.
Firmware version 14.00 is currently the latest software version available for the PlayStation 4. Until developers at Sony Interactive Entertainment prepare an update, players on hacked consoles can disrupt game sessions by entering matches with cheats enabled.
TexFunz2, a well-known insider in the GTA and Red Dead Redemption communities, urged GTA Online fans to exercise caution in public lobbies:
The jailbreak allows cheaters to go online again in GTA Online using mod menus. Be careful in public lobbies until Sony releases a new firmware version.

Rockstar Games is currently preparing for the release of the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto franchise, Grand Theft Auto VI. The single-player portion of the game is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The developers have not yet shared any details regarding a hypothetical “GTA VI Online”.
