Mattel Opens Pre-Orders for Full-Size Buildable Microsoft Xbox Console with Interactive Features

Mattel has unveiled a 1:1 scale building set of the original Microsoft Xbox console and its controller under its premium Mattel Brick Shop line. The 3,509-piece collector kit celebrates the 25th anniversary of the platform and features interactive components dedicated to Halo: Combat Evolved, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, and Psychonauts.

Pre-orders are open now for $329.99, while select international retailers list the set for €385. The full-size build recreates the hardware along with hidden details and interactive tributes to the system’s iconic games.

Builders can remove three game modules from the console body to display them separately. The package also includes 12 NanoWorld figurines.

The replica controller serves as a functional control pad for the model. Pressing its buttons triggers lighting effects that illuminate hidden dioramas inside the console while playing music from the corresponding games.

Mattel also included a hidden button combination that unlocks an exclusive light sequence. Shipping for the building set is scheduled to begin on October 16, 2026.
