Mass cancellation of trades on Counter-Strike 2 skin marketplaces has begun — cheap knives won’t be available to everyone
Some investors are trying to stockpile skins that have fallen in value.
The market in Counter-Strike 2 shifted dramatically after a recent update. Lately, investors have been buying up a variety of knives at discounted prices.
However, they ran into an issue: sellers began to catch on and started using Steam’s “Trade Protection” feature, introduced earlier this year — a tool that allows trades to be revoked.
That option isn’t available on the official Steam Marketplace: purchases there are processed directly and cannot be reversed — transactions on the platform are final.
In the community around blogger “Raiz” they highlighted several examples of cancelled deals on skin markets:
- Evelone — two Ruby Butterfly knives had their trades cancelled.
- MitaoCat — seven tier-1 knives and a pair of gloves were rescinded.
