New Leak Suggests Persona 1 Remake Is In Development

Even before the arrival of Persona 4 Revival and Persona 6, the Atlus pipeline has suffered yet another major security breach. In eerie alignment with Halloween, early development footage for an unannounced project surfaced online, pointing toward a comprehensive modern remake of Revelations: Persona, the foundational title that launched the franchise.

What did the Revelations: Persona leak reveal?

As initially documented by Persona Central, approximately two minutes of unpolished gameplay circulated online over the Halloween weekend. The footage showcases the original protagonist navigating a school-based environment before smoothly transitioning into a tactical encounter. Eagle-eyed fans also spotted Tatsuya Suou, the central figure of Persona 2: Innocent Sin, making an appearance. Given the presentation style, the video appears to originate from an internal pitch or progress review, featuring certain animation assets recycled directly from Persona 4 Revival.

Assuming this project is authentic, a formal release remains a distant horizon. It is highly improbable that the title will debut prior to the rollout of Persona 4 Revival in February 2027 or the much-anticipated, currently undated Persona 6. Nevertheless, this premature reveal strongly indicates that Atlus was thoroughly pleased with the reception of Persona 3 Reload and is committed to reimagining the franchise’s earliest entries through the lens of modern design sensibilities.

This incident further highlights a persistent vulnerability at Atlus regarding internal security and confidentiality. Persona 3 Reload suffered a nearly identical fate prior to its official unveiling. Similarly, the existence of Persona 4 Revival was inadvertently leaked by disgruntled voice actors omitted from the cast, while Persona 6 achievement data surfaced earlier this year. Such chronic leaks undoubtedly place an emotional and strategic burden on the development teams behind the scenes.

On the bright side, these premature disclosures consistently manage to ignite excitement within the community for otherwise unannounced endeavors. As someone who has never experienced the original adventure, I am genuinely thrilled at the prospect of finally diving into a contemporary retelling of Revelations: Persona.

The anticipation has been truly un-bear-able
