Marvel’s Wolverine Sold 2.4 Million Copies in 50 Days, Sony Says
Marvel’s Wolverine sold 2.4 million copies on PlayStation 5 in less than two months after its September release, according to Sony’s first official sales figures for the Insomniac Games title.
The figures cover sales through November 4, 2026. They offer the first official measure of audience interest in one of Sony’s major exclusives this year. Previously, assessments relied largely on analyst estimates.
Marvel’s Wolverine had a difficult start. Expectations were high for the game from the creators of Marvel’s Spider-Man, but it received many negative reviews after launch. Some players had hoped for a larger adventure, and its scores were noticeably lower than those of the studio’s previous superhero games.

Comparisons with PlayStation’s biggest hits are difficult. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and other major Sony exclusives posted significantly higher figures. Still, 2.4 million copies is a solid start for a game available only on PS5, particularly given the mixed player response. The holiday season and sales promotions could boost sales further. Without information on the development budget, marketing expenses and Sony’s internal forecasts, however, it is impossible to say for certain how satisfied the publisher is with the result.
