Made in Abyss: The Binary Star Falling into Darkness Releases New Trailer Featuring Tepaste and Cravali
The feature film will continue the events of the second season of the anime series of the same name.
The creators of the “Made in Abyss” anime have released a full trailer for the film “The Mystery of Awakening”.
The story follows the events of the second season, “The Golden City of the Scorching Sun”. Riko, Reg, Nanachi, and Faputa leave the sixth layer and venture even deeper into a practically unexplored region of the Abyss, from which a return to the surface is no longer possible.
The trailer also features two new characters: Tepaste is voiced by Sumire Morohoshi, known for her role as Emma in “The Promised Neverland”, while Takanori Hoshino provides the voice for Kravali.
The main theme song of the film is “Chain of the Abyss”, which plays in the second half of the trailer. It was composed by franchise regular Kevin Penkin, with vocals performed by VTuber Mori Calliope.
Kinema Citrus is once again handling production. Masayuki Kojima, who directed the two seasons of the series and previous films in the franchise, returns as director. Hideyuki Kurata wrote the screenplay, and character designs are handled by Yuka Kuroda and Kazuchika Kise from Production I.G.
“Made in Abyss: The Mystery of Awakening” will premiere in Japan on October 23, 2026. International release dates have not yet been announced.
