Little Rocket Lab publisher outraged by agenda‑critical negative reviews — says he doesn’t understand why Valve doesn’t filter Steam reviews

Occasionally Steam reviews contain peculiar messages.

Mike Rose, founder of the publisher No More Robots, recently spoke out on social media about Valve’s approach to game reviews.

His complaint was sparked by the Steam reviews for Little Rocket Lab — the title had been receiving “extremely positive” feedback, until a wave of critics appeared. Their negative posts lowered the score and the overall rating shifted to “mostly positive.”

Often these “negative reviews” were just a few lines long — the authors attacked the “agenda” rather than the game’s actual quality.

I’m utterly fed up with all of this. Valve is doing nothing to address the issue of these reviews. Everyone can see it’s only getting worse. Why haven’t they implemented a filter for “DEI” yet? [“Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion”] Why are they satisfied with how things are unfolding? I just don’t understand.

Discussion participant gsalimando argued that Valve’s inaction stems from Steam’s monopoly:

That’s the whole point of a monopoly: you don’t need to care about customers when they have no alternative to your service! What does it matter if they dislike how you run your business or if you treat them like trash? What will they do—switch to something else? Thanks, Gabe!
