Jack Schlossberg, a prominent descendant of the Kennedy political dynasty, has voiced his scathing critique of the high-profile series American Love Story.
Schlossberg, who is the grandson of President John F. Kennedy and the nephew of John F. Kennedy Jr., dismissed the show as a work of complete fiction. He characterized the production as “cartoonish,” placing the blame directly on its creator, Ryan Murphy, for the skewed portrayal.
“If you want to encounter someone who has never met my family and possesses zero insight into our lives, look no further than Ryan Murphy. […] This individual has no grasp of his subject matter and is profiting immensely from a caricature of people’s private lives,” Schlossberg remarked.
American Love Story premiered on FX and Hulu on February 12, chronicling the ill-fated romance between JFK Jr. (portrayed by Pole Anthony Kelly) and Carolyn Bessette (Sarah Pidgeon). While the series was generally well-received by critics, earning a 79% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Schlossberg remains unimpressed. The critique comes at a notable time, as Schlossberg is set to run for a New York congressional seat later this year.
