The organizers of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival have unveiled the official selection for the upcoming event, which will take place on the Lido from September 2 to September 12, 2026. This year’s highly anticipated lineup features the latest cinematic projects from renowned filmmakers such as Casey Affleck, Werner Herzog, and Martin McDonagh.

A major highlight of the festival will be the opening film, Danny Boyle’s “Ink,” which will compete for the Golden Lion. The feature, starring Jack O’Connell, Guy Pearce, and Claire Foy, chronicles the dramatic evolution of the British tabloid The Sun following its acquisition by Rupert Murdoch.
