K-Pop “Demon Hunters” Nets Five Grammy Nominations After Fictional Group’s Real-Life Hit

The Recording Academy released its nominations for the 2026 Grammy Awards on Friday. Heavyweights such as Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, and Kendrick Lamar dominate many categories — and joining them among the nominees are Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, the animated k‑pop trio Huntr/x from KPop Demon Hunters.

Sony Pictures Animation and Netflix’s surprise blockbuster picked up four nominations: Song of the Year; Best Pop Duo/Group Performance; Best Song Written for Visual Media for the track “Golden”; and Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media for the film’s full soundtrack. David Guetta also earned a nomination for his remix of Huntr/x’s “Golden.”

Fans will have to wait to see whether the animated trio brings home any gramophones. Winners are chosen by the Recording Academy’s voting membership — “a peer group composed of music creators, including artists, songwriters, producers, engineers, and more,” according to the Academy’s news release. The winners will be revealed on Feb. 1, 2026, during the televised ceremony on CBS, with streaming available on Paramount+.

The Grammy nods add to a growing list of milestones for KPop Demon Hunters and its music. The film is already Netflix’s most‑watched original film and spawned a single that reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. A sequel is in development, though reporting indicates it may not arrive until 2029, so expect to hear “Golden” on repeat for a while yet.
