With Thanksgiving on the horizon, organizers have unveiled several of the character balloons set to float in the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Fans of KPop Demon Hunters will be pleased to see mascots Derpy Tiger and Sussie among the lineup. Each year the New York City parade showcases a wide array of pop-culture icons — from SpongeBob to Scooby-Doo, and even beloved anime properties like Dragon Ball and One Piece.
Derpy Tiger and Sussie originate from the animated phenomenon about Huntr/x: a K-pop girl group by day and demon hunters by night. In the series, the members harness their voices to mend the Honmoon and keep the human world safe from demonic incursions. Alongside other fan-favorite acts — including the rival demonic boy band Saja Boys — these two mascots have become standout characters, guaranteed to delight viewers of all ages as they drift down the parade route.

It’s fair to say 2025 has been a breakout year for KPop Demon Hunters. The film climbed to the top of Netflix’s most-watched list, earned multiple Grammy nominations, and its vocalists — Ejae (Rumi), Audrey Nuna (Mira), and Rei Ami (Zoey) — recently appeared on Jimmy Fallon for a spirited, Honmoon-themed showcase. For fans, the excitement continues: those same vocalists are slated to appear at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, where they may deliver an unforgettable performance.
A follow-up feature, KPop Demon Hunters 2, is reportedly in development and expected to reach theaters in 2029. Until then, admirers can look forward to seeing Derpy and Sussie soar above the parade crowds — a bright and whimsical nod to a franchise that captured audiences this year.
