Jon Hamm certainly knows how to embrace a moment, and lately, his highlight reel seems to orbit the world of Bad Bunny. Last summer, the Hoppers star went viral after being spotted in a tropical Hawaiian shirt and bucket hat, dancing with abandon during one of Bad Bunny’s historic 30-show residency stops at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan.
During a Thursday night appearance on Late Night, host Seth Meyers pulled up a photo of Hamm’s concert antics. Without missing a beat, the actor recreated his signature “hand-in-the-air” dance move, drawing a roar of approval from the studio audience. “Don’t take this the wrong way… I wouldn’t necessarily expect you to thrive in those environs,” Meyers joked. “But honestly, you really do!”
“Dress for the job you want,” Hamm quipped regarding his island-inspired wardrobe. He described the concert experience as “spectacular,” noting how the entire venue was “vibing” as the crowd harmonized with every lyric. Hamm credited his wife, Anna Osceola, for insisting they attend, calling the night “fantastic.”
Meyers noted that Hamm’s enthusiasm didn’t stop there. A week later, he was seen in the audience—wearing the exact same concert ensemble—when Benito hosted Saturday Night Live. “I challenge you to find someone having a better time,” said Hamm, who also joined the host on stage that night for a sketch paying homage to El Chavo Del Ocho.
When asked if the two have become genuine friends, Hamm admitted they aren’t quite “besties,” though they do share a March 10 birthday. He revealed that during their interactions, he is permitted to use the singer’s given name, Benito. In return, the global superstar has a custom nickname for Hamm: “Juan Jamón.” This burgeoning bromance was also on display at this year’s Super Bowl, where cameras caught Hamm pumping his arms and grooving along to Bad Bunny’s halftime set.
“Once again… I challenge you… find someone having a better time than me,” Hamm said with a smile.
