The nominees for The Game Awards 2025 have been revealed, and Helldivers 2 made the list — but the game’s community is far from pleased.
Arrowhead’s title was nominated in two categories: “Best Ongoing Game Support” and “Best Community Interaction.” The former assesses the overall quality of post-launch support, while the latter rewards communication with players and responsiveness to their requests.
Although Helldivers 2 has received several updates since release, fan criticism focuses on perceived insufficient support and unclear communication. Reddit users point to the team’s slow pace in fixing bugs and a lack of transparent plans.
Players have commented:
“I love Helldivers 2, but it doesn’t deserve this. There are too many bugs and crashes, the balance is inconsistent, the PC build takes over 100 GB while the console version is only 60 GB. ‘We care about the community’ is nothing more than corporate spin.”
“This nomination is clearly a joke. Maybe they would have earned it last year, but certainly not this one.”
Arrowhead faces stiff competition: No Man’s Sky, Baldur’s Gate 3, Fortnite and Final Fantasy XIV are also in the running. The winners will be announced at the ceremony on December 12, 2025.
