Insider Reveals When Days Gone Developer Bend Studio Will Show Its Next Game
Bend Studio may officially reveal its next video game within the next one to two years following several years of uncertainty and canceled projects.
According to Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, the team behind Days Gone could showcase its upcoming title relatively soon. If this timeline holds, an official announcement could take place around 2027 or 2028.
Bend Studio has not announced a new project since launching Days Gone in 2019. Sony previously canceled a proposed sequel continuing the story of Deacon St. John, along with a live-service project based on a new intellectual property. The studio also navigated organizational restructuring and layoffs during that period.
Schreier reported that after Sony canceled the live-service title, the team transitioned to a fresh project that remains actively in development.
Schreier added that Bend Studio endured a challenging stretch marked by leadership changes and scrapped concepts. The team is now focused on this new game, with Schreier noting wryly that players can only hope this project avoids cancellation.
