HYPERWIRED launches July 2 with cable-based roguelike space combat

HYPERWIRED will launch on July 2 for Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. A demo is already available on all announced platforms.

The game comes from SIDRALGAMES, with Selecta Play and Entalto Publishing handling publishing. HYPERWIRED is a 2D top-down action roguelike built around one clear idea: the ship needs to plug into power sockets to recharge weapons and systems. While connected, the player gets heavy firepower, but movement is limited by the cable.

That cable changes the usual rhythm of an arcade shooter. Staying near a socket gives the ship more options in combat, while leaving the safe line means managing weaker systems and enemy pressure. The result is a loop where positioning matters as much as shooting.

What the game includes

  • procedurally generated sectors
  • a rechargeable slow-motion system
  • more than 250 bullet modifier combinations
  • over 40 upgrades for different builds
  • more than 10 ships and stranded pilots to rescue
  • large boss fights at the end of galaxies

The developers describe HYPERWIRED as a retro-styled space shooter made in GameMaker. Pixel art, destructible stages, temporary upgrade chips and rescued ships fighting alongside the player are part of the main structure.

The release date is set for July 2. Players who want to check the cable-based combat before launch can try the demo now.
