Helldivers 2 Creator Glad GTA 6 Is Not Coming to PC Yet and Won’t Have New GTA Online at Launch
Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Shams Jorjani expressed relief that Rockstar Games is not releasing Grand Theft Auto VI on PC at launch, noting that the staggered release protects the player base of live-service titles like Helldivers 2.
While the absence of an immediate PC launch has disappointed many PC players, the Helldivers 2 developer sees a clear upside for co-op shooters on the platform. Speaking to IGN, Jorjani explained that a simultaneous PC launch alongside a new online mode would draw significant traffic away from competing multiplayer titles.
Rockstar makes insane, high-budget projects, and it is great that such games exist at all. On a selfish level, I am glad it will not release on PC right away and that the online mode will not launch immediately. That means Helldivers 2 will continue to dominate its segment, and GTA VI will not become that all-consuming monster everyone fears.

Jorjani also pointed out that the strength of Rockstar Games’ brand allows the studio to operate on its own schedule without chasing industry trends, ultimately raising the bar for game development.
Right now the entire industry is constantly pivoting strategies and obsessing over early player feedback just to survive. But Rockstar has enough brand power to take its time and play by its own rules. They have the confidence and freedom to spend a decade working the old-fashioned way because they know the core game will work. That will definitely raise the bar.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar Games has not yet announced a release window for the PC edition.
