Fans have waited a long time for Fast Forever. The 2023 film Fast X ended on a cliffhanger that left Dominic Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, and his son Brian, played by Leo Abelo Perry, trapped by an exploding dam. Vin Diesel stated that the movie arrives in 2028. A Peacock TV show set in the franchise was also announced for 2028, but Fast Forever remains positioned as the final film.

Audiences hope to see favorite characters return for the final theatrical outing, including Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs and Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw. Helen Mirren previously played militia leader Magdalene Queenie Ellmanson-Shaw, the mother of Deckard Shaw, and many hope she returns as well.

Helen Mirren spoke with Polygon during a press day for her film A Talent for Murder and addressed whether she will appear in the final installment.

“Oh, in my dreams,” said Mirren.

Alden Ehrenreich, Mirren’s co-star in A Talent for Murder, joined her for the interview. Upon hearing the question, Ehrenreich asked Mirren, “Are you in them?”

Mirren replied, “Yes, briefly, very, very briefly. They sort of squeeze me in somewhere, only because Vin is incredibly kind to me and I thank him for the opportunity to be in them.”

Mirren has appeared in four films in the franchise, starting with 2017’s The Fate of the Furious. She revealed to People that she secured the role after meeting Vin Diesel at a party and asking him directly for a part.

Nearly a decade after her franchise debut, Mirren maintains her enthusiasm. “In my dreams,” Mirren reiterated. “I hope they might squeeze me in — give me a little space somewhere.”

Vin Diesel may heed the request, as Helen Mirren shares the same eagerness for the next installment as the audience.
