Ghost of Yōtei Now Runs on PC Through a PS5 Emulator
Ghost of Yotei has been launched on PC using a PS5 emulator, though even a powerful computer cannot yet run it at a playable frame rate.
As PS5 emulation on PC continues to develop, enthusiasts have managed to launch one of Sony’s biggest exclusives using the KyTyPS5 emulator.
The test used a system with an Intel Core i9-13900K processor overclocked to 5.5 GHz, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Ventus 3X graphics card, and 64 GB of DDR4 RAM running at 4,000 MHz. The PC ran Windows 11 Pro.
Despite those specifications, Ghost of Yotei reached a maximum of about 18 frames per second. That was its best result, with performance dropping sharply during gameplay, sometimes to just a few FPS. Playing comfortably under those conditions is impossible.
Launching such a demanding game can be considered a notable achievement for PS5 emulation. However, KyTyPS5 is in an early stage of development, and compatibility and performance remain serious problems.
Launching the game does not yet mean it can be played comfortably on PC. Nevertheless, PlayStation exclusives are gradually becoming accessible to emulator developers.
