Mario Kart World With DLSS 5 Looks Like an Animated Movie in PC Demo
ChillyWillMD has demonstrated Mario Kart World running on a PC with NVIDIA DLSS 5 Neural Rendering at 60 frames per second. The racing game’s lighting and visuals resemble those of a Super Mario animated film.
The experiment became possible after Nintendo Switch 2’s protection was cracked, allowing games to be extracted and run through emulators. ChillyWillMD used a PC with a GeForce RTX 5060 Ti graphics card and an Intel Core i9-13900K processor.
DLSS 5 gives the environments and characters a more cinematic look, but the result is not yet perfect. Character models have noticeable jagged edges, and the lighting from the karts’ headlights produces considerable visual noise.
Nintendo uses NVIDIA graphics technology, and Switch 2 already supports a simplified version of DLSS Super Resolution. Future Nintendo consoles could theoretically gain other technologies, including Frame Generation and Neural Rendering.
