Heavy-Metal Horror “The Axis Unseen” from the Creator of Skyrim and Fallout Releases on PS5 in December
The game is already available on personal computers.
Publisher Dark Product and developer Just Purkey Games have officially announced that the open-world “heavy-metal horror” title The Axis Unseen will launch on PlayStation 5 on December 4.
The Axis Unseen blends a grim hunting simulator with atmospheric exploration and fantasy elements. Players stalk and dispatch creatures from ancient legends using supernatural abilities, a bow with enchanted arrows, and powers siphoned from fallen monsters.
Highlights of the PS5 version:
- Adaptive triggers: the tension of the bowstring changes with different arrow types, and subtle pulses alert you when you’ve been spotted or someone is closing in from behind.
- Haptic feedback: each monster produces a distinct vibration pattern in the controller.
- 3D audio that helps you pinpoint an enemy’s direction and estimate its distance.
The project is led by Nate Perkipail, a Bethesda veteran who spent 14 years at the studio and contributed to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, and Starfield. In 2021 Perkipail left Bethesda to “return to hands-on game development”.
