In 2026 audiences will see two separate premieres set in the world of Westeros.

According to Redanian Intelligence, filming on the third season of House of the Dragon has concluded — HBO has officially moved the project into post-production. The shoot ran for roughly six months and was carried out in the outskirts of London at the Leavesden studio.

Whereas dragon sequences, castles, and epic battles were previously filmed against Southern European landscapes, this season’s environments were all constructed and filmed in the United Kingdom.

The third season is expected to debut in summer 2026. HBO chief Casey Bloys clarified the release will arrive “shortly after the close of the Emmy season” (May 31), which suggests a June launch.

Before that, in January, viewers will get another George R. R. Martin–related project — the series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, adapted from the Dunk and Egg novellas. In short, HBO will release two entries in the Game of Thrones universe in 2026.
