Native PS5 Game Support on PC Hits a Snag as Library Coverage Falls From 91% to 26%
AnyPS5’s creators have discovered more PlayStation 5 system library instructions than expected, leaving substantial work ahead on the project to run PS5 games natively on PCs.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar Games and Take-Two have not announced a PC version, and the game appears unlikely to run on PC at launch. Players have been watching AnyPS5 with interest.
The AnyPS5 team is studying the console’s GPU instructions and system libraries. Its instruction recognition counter stood at 84% in early October and later passed 91%. Many players expected it to reach 100% soon, but the figure fell rapidly after additional instructions were discovered.
The PlayStation 5’s system libraries turned out to be larger than initially expected. As of early November, research into those libraries had reached 26.29%, covering 9,153 of 34,815 instructions.
Some players are urging the AnyPS5 team to focus on features related to single-player games. They believe the team should not spend time on online or multiplayer components at this stage.
The source says the project’s progress can be followed on its website, but it does not include a link.
