Young Sherlock: First Images, Cast and Prime Video Release
Prime Video’s Young Sherlock stars Hero Fiennes Tiffin as Sherlock Holmes before he becomes the disciplined detective of Arthur Conan Doyle’s stories. The series opens in Oxford in the 1870s, where a murder case threatens Sherlock’s freedom and draws him into a conspiracy that reaches far beyond the university.
Fiennes Tiffin leads the cast with Dónal Finn as James Moriarty. Zine Tseng, Joseph Fiennes, Natascha McElhone, Max Irons and Colin Firth also appear. Guy Ritchie directed the first two episodes and serves as an executive producer.
The first season consists of eight episodes. All eight premiered on Prime Video on March 4, 2026. Amazon has renewed the series for a second season, which is in production with Fiennes Tiffin and Finn returning; no Season 2 release date has been announced.
