A fresh GTA Online update brings back familiar faces — and some fans believe it quietly teases a cameo for GTA 6 next year.
You may have noticed that one third of GTA V’s central trio, Michael De Santa, appears in GTA Online’s “A Safehouse in the Hills” update alongside his wife Amanda. The update even lets players purchase Michael’s mansion — complete with trophy cabinets, a private salon and animal kennels — so you can flaunt a decade of ill-gotten riches.

“Michael and I are empty nesters now, with too much time on our hands, and our son is finally moving away from home,” Amanda says in a cutscene that has drawn plenty of attention. Some players have also reported receiving texts from Jimmy saying he’s “moving out of state,” although that interaction appears to be glitchy for some users or may have been removed.
Unsurprisingly, theory crafters online have suggested Rockstar Games planted the line as a quiet setup for GTA 6. The series has a track record of bringing back minor characters — Trevor, for instance, was introduced through links to earlier entries — so a Jimmy appearance in Vice City wouldn’t be unprecedented.
